TSA precheck applicationA Pre✓® application is the first step to expedited screening. To apply, fill out our online Pre✓® application and submit payment (if you qualify). If you are approved, we’ll send an email with detailed instructions to help you complete your interview and fingerprint check at an application center.
Precheck recommendation letter: If you have an interview at a Pre✓ application center, please contact your other organization to obtain a letter stating that you are in good standing with the TSA and should be considered for expedited screening. To meet this requirement, you must be able to provide documentation from one of the following sources: A current (within 6 months) or previous employer Supervisor or unit manager Anyone else who may have worked with you as part of an organized group, such as a Volunteer Group Member from a professional organization.
The TSA Pre✓® application program allows expedited screening for U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who are not citizens of a participating international country. After you submit your application and background check has cleared, you will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) that works like a frequent flyer number to identify you as an approved traveler. When you arrive at the airport, you will be able to use the same dedicated line of TSA Pre✓® lanes provided to Global Entry members, complete with the TSA “green light” entry system.
How do I apply for Global Entry?
Once you have been approved, you will be sent a Global Entry card in the mail. This is your ticket to fast track your way through international arrival procedures. To apply for Global Entry, you must answer some questions about yourself, provide fingerprints and pay a $100 fee to DHS. Global Entry allows expedited entry into the U.S. Visit the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website at cbp.gov to begin your application process.
You’ll need to provide biographical information such as name, date of birth, address, and citizenship status. You’ll also need to submit a color photograph for facial recognition scans, provide additional documents if you have them (if applicable), answer questions about previous passport use or convictions, and pay the $100 processing fee with a credit card or debit card in order to receive your Global Entry Card by mail within six weeks of application.
