The USCIS.gov case status provides information about the immigration application or petition that you have filed with USCIS. The immigration application or petition may include a Form I-130 (immigrant petition for family member), Form I-140 (immigrant petition for alien worker), Form N-400 (application to become a naturalized U.S. citizen), or other filing type. With a few exceptions, after we receive your application, it takes 30 days before you can check its status using USCIS.gov’s “Case Status” tool. Sometimes it can take much longer than 30 days to get this information online because of how we work in government, which is outside our control.

Only individuals with a valid Alien Registration Number can receive the case status information from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). You can check the status of your immigration case by logging into the USCIS, Immigration and Citizenship Services site.
